First tip, every time you go for a shopping always check the label for the kind of fabric used.

Second, look for the “ply count”. The ply count is either a “two-ply” or a “one-ply”. The two-ply counts are shirts with a smoother, stronger and softer feel. Another technique of checking for its ply count is to raise the cloth up against the light to visualize the tight weave. The one-ply however is the opposite of the two-ply, which explains why it is less costly than the other.

Third, check for the clothes’ seam. The seams are the stitch that runs down along the sides where pieces of cloth are stitched together. The quality shirts are those that have a single stitching on the sides of the garment.

Fourth, check for the clothes’ buttonholes. For quality clothes, the buttonholes are stitched by hand.  The high quality are those irregular stitches created by hand are found on the holes.  Lastly, check for the patterns and curves if it is lined-up in the seam, and the pattern is balanced and gives a nice contour in the body.
